September 15, 2017

This month’s note is a bit later than usual because so much has been happening here that now I’m playing catch-up! We are definitely seeing the seasons changing; while days continue to be warm, temperatures are dropping at least 20º by nighttime. We’re feeling like it’s time to be buying new clothing, picking the late finds in our gardens, and generally storing up our acorns for the winter to come. One of the best ways to experience the abundance of harvest time is to reap some peace and serenity in ourselves as we take stock of our health and well being, see what we’ve accomplished over summer, and tune ourselves up for cooler days.

Of course, I heartily recommend some bodywork sessions and self-care practices to put things in good working order as we move into the more sedentary pastimes of fall. There is much you can do to stay fit and flexible between sessions with me — and we can put together some easy self-care routines, stretches, and mindful practices that will help to keep you in great shape!

Progress and Practice in Ortho-Bionomy®:

I now have only two requirements outstanding for my Associate Level approval, which should be complete in the next 30 days — a feedback session with my mentor, and a required Ethics and Emotion tutorial, and then I can officially use the term on my printed materials. I have new business cards ready to print and I love the design improvements I’ve made. I’m enrolled with the governing body for continuing education to Registered Practitioner Level and I have my next class — on Isometrics - coming up this weekend. I’m also taking a class in December devoted to Women’s Issues, and I’m eager to share what I learn with you since this is my primary focus area of practice. Every class increases not just my practical knowledge and understanding of the principles of this work, but my excitement about its marvelous effects.

If you would like to help me practice these specific skills in a session — rather than have a traditional massage — for September and October, you can have an hour-long session for only $50 (save $20!) This work is done clothed, so it’s a bit easier to do in the middle of the day or when you have a little free time.

Reiki Group and Classes:

In July, I opened my home to start a Reiki practice group, expecting to have perhaps 4-5 people join. Our first meeting had twice that number, and it has grown each successive time. This week we had 10 attendees and the group is up to 20 members — which is really unexpected to me in the best possible way. I’d thought, in coming to a small town, that there probably wouldn’t be a lot of people interested in the kinds of things I love, but to hear the discussions of metaphysics and healing and shared experiences at each meeting is inspirational. Though the majority of members are not Reiki-attuned, the exchanges are wonderful.

So I was surprised, I was doing the introduction at our meeting Monday, that my mouth got ahead of my brain and I announced I would be teaching a Reiki Level I class next month! I’ve set the date for Saturday, October 21 from 10am - 5pm and I’m polishing up my Reiki I manual and organizing materials. Location will depend on the number of enrollees and the cost is $75, with a deposit of $25 to hold a space in advance. If you’re interested, full details are at the FaceBook group Delta Reiki Circle, or email me and I can send them to you directly.

What I’m Grateful For Today:

I’ve been given support for further education and growing my business, so you will be seeing weekly ads for Floating Lotus in the local Rio Vista Beacon in the months to come, and I will be able to continue with more classes as they are offered. While the donor remains anonymous, I want to publicly acknowledge the gift and express my unending gratitude for this opportunity and my intention to continue to grow and serve and heal to the best of my ability.

My Schedule:

Bodywork Sessions
Tuesday - Thursday 10 AM - 7 PM

Delta Reiki Circle
First Monday of each month, 7 PM at O’Brien Massage Therapy, 26 N. 2nd Street, Rio Vista (Sliding scale donation to $10)

Usui Reiki Level I Class
Saturday, October 21, 10 AM - 5 PM, $75, Location TBA ($25 deposit at required advance registration, balance due @ beginning of class, light lunch included)

I’m hoping to see you soon and share my work with you. Thank you for your interest in and support of me.
