December 11, 2017

Wishing you the joys of the season, whatever you may celebrate! It’s a time for fellowship and sharing, and the gift of rest and restoration is one that is always appreciated.

A gift certificate for incredible bodywork from Floating Lotus is sure to be happily received by any woman — starting at only $25 for a half-hour of targeted work, up to a 2-hour indulgence for only $110, you can impress someone with your taste and discernment (or you can hint to someone who loves you!) PayPal or plastic, it’s easy to purchase, and you can get either a lovely certificate via snail mail, or a PDF - great as a last minute gift!

Sharing Knowledge New and Old

As many of you know, I’ve recently completed the first level of competence in Ortho-Bionomy® and I can’t begin to tell you how amazing and effective this work is. Many people think bodywork must be deep (and painful) to be effective, but using the mechanics of our musculature to comfortably and easily relieve tension and holding patterns is not only faster, but longer-lasting.

Just this past weekend I participated in an O-B class focused specifically on women’s anatomy — which is much different than male anatomy in some very important ways! I’m so eager to share this with you; if you suffer from PMS or other menstrual difficulties, peri- or post-menopausal tensions, low back tension or weakness, or other “female problems" I think you'll find this a tremendous help.
As part of my woman-centered practice, I can also help young women — or their mothers — with ways to ease their path into maturity, sharing acupressure self-help techniques to relieve cramps, water retention, and other symptoms, so that they can welcome this new stage of their lives rather than approach it with apprehension and even shame. If you have a daughter approaching or in puberty, this is information that will be a help to both of you!

Coming and Going

I’m sad to report that the beautiful Miyazaki Japanese Bathhouse in Walnut Grove is no longer operating. It was a lovely place to share bodywork, and to indulge myself in the occasional soak & steam as well.

Beginning in January, I will be available for sessions in Rio Vista on Tuesdays, offering up to 3 appointments at O'Brien Massage at 26 N. 2nd Street. While my Isleton location is lovely and in a safe part of town, I know there are some who aren’t comfortable here, so I hope I’ll see more of you by being a little bit closer one day a week!

Add Reiki to Your Life

Join me for a Reiki Level I class on Saturday, January 13 from 10 am - 5 pm! Reiki is great for hands-on self-care and everyday aches and pains, and anyone can do it. $25 registration fee to hold your place (and order your lunch and materials), with the $50 balance due at class. (Pre-registration required; deadline is Monday, January 8.)

Class includes learning about the history of Reiki, basic mindfulness and meditation techniques, recognizing and working with bio-magnetic energy, practice in using simple protocols and hands-on healing, and more. You’ll get a great workbook/manual, a light lunch, and a tool that can work “magic” on you and your family’s “owies.” If you’re interested, please PM me and I can answer any more specific questions you may have.

Thank You!

This first year of my practice has been one of learning and growth for me, and I want to tell you how grateful I am you have trusted me with your aches and pains, your thoughts and fears, your vulnerabilities and strengths. Each person who has shared my space has brought me further along this healing journey, and in helping you I am also receiving great gifts. It means so much to me to see your eyes brighter and your smile softer and your body easier when you leave my studio, and I thank you for the gifts of your presence and your support.

With much gratitude, great joy, and anticipation of an even more fulfilling year to come,
Beth
