March has arrived in the Delta, coming in like a lion with high winds and heavy rains for the past 4-5 days. After a dry February, I’m grateful for the much-needed soaking for all the new plantings that went in last fall after my birthday. And I’m taking care of my practice at the same rate—breaking some new ground and watering it with awareness and attention in hopes of an abundant crop of new ways of helping you.

I’ve been so busy with this preparatory stage since the year began that I just realized I’d missed saying hello in February—but I wish you all the joy your heart can hold nonetheless!

Reiki in the Delta

In February, I offered the first Reiki Level 1 class here, and was delighted with the response. Because I want these classes to be intimate, the 4 students I can fit into my home were exactly right. Some were new, some had some experience, and we enjoyed a peaceful and healing day together, including a light and healthy lunch and snacks, time to meditate, learn, and practice together. It was very rewarding for me, as I have sorely missed teaching and all that entails—prep work, revising materials, setting up a good atmosphere for learning, and the joy of sharing my knowledge with eager students.

I’ll be repeating the Level 1 again on April 14th, and hope to do a Level 2 class in early fall, covering emotional and distance healing for those who are interested in taking it further. Drop me a note if you would like to be added to the list - since space is limited, it’s a good idea to commit early rather than late.

Our monthly Reiki Sharing Circle is beginning to fill up again as the press of the holidays and the almost overwhelming desire to cocoon in the midst of the cold and dark starts to ease. We meet the first Monday of the month at 7 pm, and the first Tuesday at 2 pm, at O’Brien Massage Therapy at 25 N. Second St. in Rio Vista. It’s a sliding scale meeting that’s capped at $10, and we spend 2 hours trading work and discussing our Reiki experiences. Everyone is welcome and no training is necessary, so please join us if you are interested in energetic work of any sort.

Recovery and Renewal

What’s been consuming so much time in my life and practice has been a re-imagining of how I work. I want to have a deeper, more lasting positive effect on my clients, to help you make a transformation or improvement in your health and wellness, and in your relationship with your body.

Why this direction?
I noticed the frustration of clients seeing improvement after a session, only to lose ground by falling back into old habits. I want to offer more help and support than an occasional session offers. It takes years to form ingrained movement patterns and compensations, so releasing those patterns is a layered approach. Similarly, an injury sets up a sequence of body adaptation to protect us from the pain, and unwinding that sequence isn’t a one-time process either.

How can I can do this for you?
Because I did it for myself; I can shorten that journey for you. You don’t need to take 15 years to recover from traumatic injury. You don’t have to feel old and achy. There are long-lasting solutions that I'm ready to share so you can return to living an active, full and joyous life.
I’ve developed two 90-day programs with different applications but the same design. First is my Get It Back program, for women recovering from injury, illness, surgery or other health challenges. The second is Fit and Flexible at 50 and Beyond—challenging the belief that adding years means subtracting joys from your life.

The principle of both programs is to become your body’s best friend. Both work through the same steps; the difference is the goal. In both, we assess where you are and where you want to be, follow a program of targeted bodywork sessions, guided meditations and introspection, movement practices, video coaching, self-care support, technology to increase blood flow and immune resilience, and a celebratory final VIP luncheon and spa visit to celebrate just how far you’ve come.

The tools you learn will be yours for the rest of your life. Your body communicates to you, and I can teach you the language it’s speaking!

It’s Never Too Early!
Even if you’re young and at the peak of fitness, remember it’s never too early to start falling in love with your own body, learning to listen to what it’s saying, and helping it be as happy as it can be—every single day—by learning the secrets of being best friends with your body.

If you'd like to know more, please contact me; we'll schedule a chat to explore if this approach is right for you. I’ll be offering a 50% savings to three people, in exchange for your honest feedback through the process, and your testimonial upon completion.

In love and light,
Beth
